Edwin Perez is a board certified anesthesiologist and board certified pain management physician. He grew up in Jersey City and for most of his childhood. He grew up in a religious household and ultimately became a child preacher in the Hispanic community. His view of the world continued to broaden and reshape over time while his traditional education continued culminating with obtaining his MD from New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. He currently practices both specialties in New Jersey and is also licensed in New York and Washington State.

However, throughout this time, there was another piece of himself that needed some further work He learned that he needed to manage his own all around behavior better especially as he often felt misunderstood and did not believe he could fully connect with others during conversation. He turned to several organizations that work on personal growth. While he learned a great deal, he realized how inflexible they seemed to be in their definitions of connection. They also seemed to have an inability to acknowledge the full range of human emotions.

Recently, he found more resonance with the ideas and tenets behind NLP.  This led to more clarity and connection in both his personal and professional life.  He learned something simple, a mantra that he carries to this day.

“There is no failure, only feedback
If what your doing isn’t working, try something else”-NLP tenet

As a physician, Dr. Edwin Perez has learned that pain and stress can lead to anger. Here is a simple example…ever had a headache? Ever had it get worse after its started if you find yourself with a difficult person or situation? And sometimes does that lead to lashing out?  The headache like most pain problems is very real and our attitudes can play a great role in our experience of pain.
